Villa de Leyva is one of Colombia’s most famous towns. And for good reason. Its pristinely preserved colonial houses sitting on cobble stoned streets suggest a place with a history that is worth uncovering
Most of Villa de Leyva’s attractions are of the natural variety. If you take a right instead of going straight to the Jesus statue (the shortest hike to view the town) a wonderous trek awaits you in Iguaque National Park
I made some new friends staying at a hostel in Villa de Leyva. They were planning to go check out a waterfall and invited me to join them. I am glad I did because this was one of my favorite travel days I have ever had
Thanks to all the hitchhiking we did on that day we ended up doing an impromptu visit of the charming town of Arcabuco
